Ooo La la - What a wedding!.
Sandy and Peter wanted a French themed wedding, as Peter proposed to Sandy under the Eiffel tower in Paris - how romantic! The focal point of the cake had to be an Eiffel tower and then Sandy really left the rest to me.
She loved the chocolate shard look, so l designed the double layers running around the cake with my French heart design, hand-piped in black on the front shards. The pointed chocolate shards out of the top tier were magnificent, they certainly made a statement and gave the cake that extra wow factor. Voila!
I designed the shards rising out of the top tier with a single line of edible silver pearls to give it a touch of bling while at the same time also accentuating the lines - giving it a very edgy look.
This was a large cake (as most of mine tend to be) and Sandy and Peter were serving it as dessert. My signature chocolate almond truffle cake, made with Lindt chocolate and Almond meal served with raspberry coulis and double cream. Yum!
The ceremony and reception were held at the Villa, located at Nerang, which really encapsulated this stylish French soiree. A boutique venue, with an exclusive 18 hole golf course, available to a select 100 members.
The French theme flowed through the whole wedding, from the invitations and the gorgeous seating plan with the Fleur da le, through to the menus, name tags and guest book all supplied by the very talented and creative Cara Marie from Invitation Station.
, tres chic!.
It was very much a collaborative effort with Cara and I working together to provide the ultimate French look. Magnifique!
