A Beautiful Vineyard Wedding

Sarah and Lee had their wedding at the beautiful Sirromet Winery - Such a gorgeous setting in amongst the vineyards. The reception was held in the barrel room, a fantastic room filled with barrels of wine. The cake was designed around the colours of the pink in the bridesmaids' dresses and the pinks in the flower bouquets. Sarah and Lee wanted me to create something different, something eye catching that would also reflect the barrel room. I instantly thought of using dark chocolate to reflect the earthy feel of Sirromet and also the woody feel of the enormous oak barrels.

Sarah and Lee loved the romantic hearts, so I designed the white hearts outlined in both dark chocolate and pink with large chocolate shards fanning out of the cake with the hearts interlaced, accentuating the tops of the shards. Sarah had her dress made by Fiorenza Collections which was beautifully beaded so l incorporated that by detailing the tops of the shards with a single row of edible pink pearls (all imported from Italy) and scattered them around the dark chocolate collar. I finished it off with a soft pink satin and organza ribbon and bow in the front. I also scattered hearts on the bridal table and some shards just to keep the theme flowing.

A lovely touch to their bridal table and a complete surprise for the Bride and Groom. I am excited to say they now have a baby daughter Lilly.
