Fairytale Romance
This was truly a fairytale wedding and Krista was the princess. When Krista's mother Lyndall booked the appointment with me, she stated that she only wanted something simple and classic. When they browsed through my albums, we worked out a design that had 3 tiers with textured icing and fresh flowers. Simple, but classic. As l was jotting down my notes, Lyndall was looking at some other designs, when all of a sudden she spotted my stunning 5 tier heart cake. That was the end of the textured icing and fresh flowers-she spun around and said "Julie, l think we need to make a statement." This is one of my favourites. I have only created this design a couple of times in 5 years, since relocating the business from Melbourne.
I individualised it for Krista and Kurt by monogramming one of the hearts fanning out of the top tiers in edible gold pearls, with their initials K&K.
Krista's dress, designed by Brad Web of Darb Bridal Couture, was simply stunning. Brad also designed Lyndalls dress and the bridesmaid's dresses too. All very chic.
The Stamford Plaza marquee was like fairy land with masses of gorgeous roses in soft pinks, creams and latte colours, supplied by Shirley Baggaley of Baggaleys Florists.
Over all it was a magic night, with the Storey Bridge sparkling away in the distance.
